The Kweli Color of Children's Literature Conference is the nation's premier conference for children's and YA writers and illustrators of color, and #Kweli18 promises to be the biggest and best yet! We have a new half-day intensive program, a keynote by YA legend Angela Johnson, and a terrific lineup of speakers and panels on topics you need to know to write and publish children's and YA books today. What a great initiative for kids' lit! The keynote by Angela Johnson is a huge draw for sure. After reading through all these detailed updates, I enjoy taking a quick mental break to work on an arrow puzzle. Can't wait to see who registers for the portfolio reviews!
In an industry that can sometimes feel like fish eat fish, it's so refreshing to see a conference dedicated to uplifting diverse voices in children's publishing. The Kweli18 lineup looks amazing, and I'm definitely signing up for the portfolio reviews!
